Dinosaur National Monument

DINOSAURS! This made our boys super happy. This was a great "kid friendly" park.
First we took a bus up to the dinosaur quarry. The quarry is a building that we were able to walk through and see the actual dinosaur bones still in the rock. They chipped away at it so you can see the bones.

We walked inside and saw some spectacular dinosaur bones. Most of them were not in one piece. Supposedly, the bones were washed away in the rains and the bones all came together in one big clump.
This one was the most distinct put together dinosaur.

The boys got to actually tough the dinosaur bone.

It was a really neat museum with some fun interactive games.
During the whole tour Hyrum had a booklet that he had to fill out in order to become a Jr. Ranger. And he earned  his badge after repeating that he would protect the parks. His badge said "paleontologist" so from that point on he was a "paleontologist detective."
A few miles past the quarry was a cute little cabin. I wish I could remember the ladies name but it was a single lady who built and lived in the cabin.
 This is the chicken coop.

It had glass windows, dirt floor, and fire place. Pretty amazing for a single lady!

On our way out we saw some hieroglyphs....
