It just amazes me how big my boy is getting. Hyrum turned 5 on July 28th. We had a super low key party. The night before Mike and I decorated the living room/kitchen with streamers and balloons. Hyrum woke up so excited to see all the excitement. The first thing he asks..."Can I open my presents?" So after having an oatmeal breakfast (Hyrums choice) we opened presents. He got a lego set, new jammies, and glow sticks. Both grandparents sent money and he was able to go get a remote control airplane, a nerf gun, and some roller blades we found at a thrift store for super cheap. Grandpa and Grandma Rupp also gave him a tree trimmer tool when we were visiting for the 4th of July. Hannah also gave him a drill set. He just loves all his toys!
Every year he always picks out his cake right after his birthday for the next year. Last year he said he wanted a dinosaur cake and he has stuck with that idea for a whole year. So he got his wish and got a dino cake! Next year he says he wants a super hero cake.
After our fun morning we went to Chili's for lunch and Hyrum got sang to by the staff and got a huge brownie with ice cream. Then we went to the flagstaff aquaplex which was another of Hyrums choices and he showed daddy how he can swim all by himself.
Hyrum is such a sweet boy. I am grateful for the joy he brings into our lives. He has a very outgoing personality and so easy going. At age 5:

Favorite Toy: Tool sets and super hero toys (all he has are ninja turtles from when his dad was little).
Favorite Food: Mac n' Cheese, spaghetti-o's, and oatmeal
