Cozumel Mexico
Our last port was in Mexico. We ported in Cozumel and the Moldenhauer family decided to do an excursion with the Mayan Ruins in Tulum. It was AMAZING! We booked our tour through LDS tours online. And our tour guide was Alma. They mentioned that we would find them at the port with a BYU hat on. Sure enough there was Alma waiting for us. We just weren't expecting it to be a women! She was fantastic. She referenced several scriptures from the Book of Mormon with the sights we were looking at. This is one of those unforgettable experiences.
Before we got on our fairy to head to Tulum we had a little time to go shopping. Here are all the ladies in Mexico waiting before our journey to the Mayan ruins.
We took a fairy over to Tulum and here we are on our 45 minute boat ride. I think we were all feeling a little sea sick from the big waves. We met this really nice couple (sitting behind us) and they are from the United States but live in Cozumel. They invited us to come back someday and stay in their apartments that they rent out. Someday!
This is Alma! Again, what an amazing lady. Her husband and herself both did a great job transporting us to several locations. They kept us entertained.
On the LDS tour van.
This is the entrance to the ruins.
This is a picture representing the telestial, terrestrial, and Celestial. I might be wrong on this but I think the roots represented the telestial kingdom, the branches were the terrestrial and the top of the tree was the Celestial kingdom. The Mayans were very smart people.

This is the outside wall before we were able to enter the inner part. The rock wall was around the whole perimeter of the city. The "regular" people lived outside of the walls once again representing the telestial kingdom.
Once we got inside we were on Terrestial ground. It was just amazing to see all the details. Here there are three symbols on the top of this building. To the left there is a figure, the middle a figure, and the last is an empty spot. Representing The father, son, and holy ghost. Three separate people.
Here is a figure on the left side its a baby with the umbilical cord still attached. And they believed that a God would someday come down and live a mortal life. Pretty cool stuff.

And this was an awesome picture. You can see the temple at the top which is Celestial ground. Only certain people were allowed to go to the temple. This is were they offered their sacrifices.
After the ruins we were able to go and snorkel. Its amazing how you forget how badly salt water tastes. But it was a very fun experience. The picture below was of the sand. We felt like we were walking in flour. It was so soft and pretty.
