Crazy news.....we are moving! It all started when we left Kingman thinking we would be moving back to Idaho for good. The whole reason we went to Idaho State was so we could get into the physical therapy program and be closer to home and eventually find something in this area. Well...Heavenly Father had different plans for us.
At the end of January Mike heard back from NAU in Flagstaff and he had been invited to an interview at the end of February. We were SHOCKED. This year there were over 900 applicants and only 120 people got an interview. So we thought we might as well go do it since we have the invite. But then we decided if we had heard back from ISU by then, we wouldn't go. As time passed, we were not hearing back from ISU. He had found out from another guy in one of his classes that he had an invitation to the "open house." Mike had not received one yet. So he called up the department and asked them if that was a mistake. The secretary said that they didn't have all of his information and to call the graduate school because thats what they were waiting on. He called them up and they had everything they just hadn't sent it over. So the secretary told him to come to the open house anyway. A week after the open house she called back and informed him that they FINALLY had gotten all of his stuff. (by this point they were already accepting people.) So we waited and waited. Our interview for NAU was on a Saturday so Mike went in to the PT department at ISU on Thursday and asked if they had any idea because he really didn't want to have to travel all the way to AZ if he knew he was accepted. At this point the secretary told him that she was pretty sure he was on the waiting list.
So early Friday morning Mike and I, along with the kids, headed to flagstaff. Saturday morning Mike had his interview and it went FABULOUS! He said that the first interviewer told him that out of all the people he interviewed he was in the top 10%. The second interviewer went even better! It was worth all the driving. At this point we started having some pretty crazy feelings that this is where we needed to be. On Monday Mike received an e-mail stating that he had been accepted!!! I was SOOOO proud of him. NAU is a top ranked school in the nation so it would be silly for us not to go there. But we didn't even have to make a choice. On Wednesday we got a letter in the mail saying that we were on the alternate list for ISU at #12. In all honesty I think it was a blessing so we didn't have to make a choice. So FLAGSTAFF HERE WE COME!!! If you would have asked me a year ago where we would be, I would have never thought we would be back in Arizona. But we are really excited and we have always loved flagstaff.
